Is this good or bad kitchen design

Is this good design or bad feng shui?

If we look at the modern kitchen design in many new houses, there is one common feature that we can also find many luxurious houses is: to have the kitchen stove/island located at the middle of the kitchen. So, is this a good design or bad feng shui?

I believe the people who design this type of kitchen is firstly not a feng shui follower because it is really against many feng shui good practice of placing the kitchen stove. In feng shui, the kitchen stove is considered as one the three most important features in the house, namely the main entrance, kitchen stove and the master bedroom. In this particular layout, we can see that the kitchen stove has no solid support at the back because it is opened at all sides which means it is difficult to retain the chi. This will generally cause health and money problems. Furthermore, under the concept of the “small tai chi”, this is referring as the “burning of the heaven heart” as the kitchen stove is located at the middle of the kitchen. In many cases, it will also facing the kitchen sink directly across which creates the conflicting effects of water and fire.

Leaving feng shui ideas aside, there are some practical issues in this type of design. For instance, it is very difficult to discharge the heat, steam, grease and smell from the cooking which is not a desirable environment inside the house.  Personally, I believe this is typical an “only look good in picture” gimmick in the sale brochure but impractical in everyday cooking activities. Just imagine all the cooking utensils, bottles of cooking oil, spices lying around!

How to improve the study of our children in feng shui?

In feng shui, there are a few remedies we can apply to improve the scholar luck for our children, namely placing the study desk and bed facing their “scholar luck” directions and placing a green jade pagoda at the scholar luck’s sector in their rooms. I will explain below how to calculate the “scholar luck” location for our children:

- First of all, using the Chinese 4 Pillars or BaZi calculator (where you can find in my blog site http://netgent1-creativelife.blogspot.ca/) to determine the Heavenly Stems of the children’s day of birth (the result which shown on the top on the Day column in the calculator in my blog site) and then look up the “scholar luck” sector from the following tables:

Heaven Stems      “scholar luck” direction/sector

Jia                      SE (142.5 – 157.5 degree)
Yi                        South (172.5 – 187.5 degree)
Bing                    SW (232.5 – 247.5 degree)
Ding                    West (262.5 – 277.5 degree)
Wu                       SW (232.5 – 247.5 degree)
Ji                          West (262.5 – 277.5 degree)
Geng                    NW (322.5 – 337.5 degree)
Xin                       North (352.5 – 7.5 degree)
Ren                      NE (52.5 – 67.5 degree)
Gui                       East (82.5 – 97.5 degree)

After finding the "scholar luck" location, by using an auspicious day and time, you can then apply the following:

- arrange the desk or bed facing the “scholar luck” directions.

-  place a green jade pagoda (size doesn’t matter) at the “scholar luck” sector of the room, and put a photo of the child (glue a piece of hair at the back of the photo) in front of the pagoda.

Note: the pagoda must be a 9-storey pagoda and must green in color if the reader think the green jade pagoda is too expensive. The above arrangement shall be kept in place as long as the child stay in the room.

The other method we can apply is to place the green jade pagoda at the sector where the annual number 4 wood star is located which can be look up in many web sites.

If you are following the Xuan Kong Flying Star sector, you can place 4 lucky bamboo stems at the sector where the annual number 1 water star is located as this will enhance the [1, 4] combination which will bring scholar luck; and a cup of water where the annual number 4 wood star is located to enhance the annual number 4 wood star.

What is annual, monthly, daily, hourly and second flying stars and its effects to the feng shui of the house?

Under the Xuan Kong Flying Star feng shui, all the above captioned flying stars are considered as “guest stars”, they are mostly served as the “trigger” to the effects of the “host stars” combination at the sectors. In practice, when we are analyzing the feng shui of a house, we will study the natal chart of the house especially the sitting and facing star combination. As the same time, we will also look at the effects from flying “guest stars” especially the annual and monthly flying stars.

For example, if the timely “guest stars” fly to the sector which has an auspicious sitting/facing star combination, it will further enhance its effect. On the other hand, if some untimely “guest stars” fly to this sector, it will reduce its auspicious effect, or in some extreme cases, it will cause adverse effects like the vicious number 2 and 5 earth star. Simply put, this is the reason why the feng shui of the house will change in time and space.

Now, some people will ask what is the difference between the “guest stars”. In general practice, the annual flying stars will dictate the house’s feng shui for a whole year; while the monthly flying stars will have lesser effects on the feng shui of the house. However, when we consider them together with the annual flying stars, it will give us a more accurate prediction of the feng shui of the house within the year.

Let us look at the following example:

SE
              3

              4
South
              8

              9
SW
              1

              2
East
              2

              3

               4

               5
West
               6

               7
NE
               7

               8
North
                9

                1
NW
               5

               6

This is a natal chart showing the annual flying stars (numbers at the bottom) and the monthly flying stars (numbers at the bottom) for a Period Seven house. Let us assume the time is year 1995 August month.

At the West sector, we can see that the timely number 7 annual flying star is located at this sector. If this sector happened to be the entrance sector or there is a large window, it imply good money luck in the year.  However, since the untimely number 6 monthly flying star fly to this sector, that means in August, the household may encounter argument and legal conflicts due to the [6,7] combination. Therefore, it is necessary to apply water element feng shui remedies to solve the problem.

As to the daily and hourly flying stars, it is primarily used to determine the auspicious day and time to apply feng shui cure or commencement of building and renovation works. This is normally what I will do in my professional consultation. I understand that there are some masters even use this information to predict the monthly/daily sale of a business establishment!

In order to help the beginner to further understand this topic, I will use the following example to further illustrate the effects of the annual and monthly flying stars:

This is the natal chart of a Period Eight house. Let us look at the flying star combination at the SW which is also the entrance sector:

   6                 8
             4

   4                 5

Note: The bottom left number represents the annual flying star and the bottom right number represents the monthly flying star.

Since the timely number 8 facing star is located at this sector, this indicates that this house will enjoy good money luck in Period Eight. However, there is a conflict with the number 4 wood base star (middle number), it implies the possibilities of health problem to the children in the house. In addition to the fact that the number 4 annual flying star is located at this sector, it will further enhance the conflict between the wood and earth star. In my practice, I will advise my client to be careful about health of the children in this year; especially in the month when the number 4 and 5 monthly fly to this sector.

Is this good feng shui house?

Is this a good feng shui house?

Recently there is an article in the Toronto star newspaper that caught my attention. In the article, they are showing a rebuilt luxury home in Rosedale, the upscale area of Toronto. It is a 3-storey mansion with total area over 5000 square feet, and the asking price is $6,495,000.

Well, for any non-feng shui believers, this appears to be a nice and luxurious house with ample amenities like swimming pool and many upgrades features. However, as a consultant who practice the traditional Chinese feng shui, I have seen some major inauspicious features or “luan tao” which will render it is not a good feng shui house and definitely I will not recommend to my clients!

Looking at the photo, we can see that there is a double garage built-in into the ground floor, and the main floors are raised 3-storey above the garage. This basically means that vehicles can drive through the underside of the main floors. In feng shui, we refer this type of design or “luan tao” as “ground empty house” [地空屋] and “ground moving house” [动屋]. This will cause poor concentration in making important decisions and study for the children in the house. The main culprit is this will caused unsteady and fluctuating fortune and house luck.

In many cases, we will advise our clients not to use the rooms above the garage as study or bedroom as feng shui remedies or even move to other houses. Unfortunately, apparently this is not possible in this particular home because as shown in the photo, the built-in garage is right under the main entrance and there are important rooms like the living room etc. on top of the garage.

Based on the above, I predict whoever buy this house will not live long in this house and very soon it will be up for sale again!

How to determine which floor of a high-rise condominium is auspicious in feng shui

Since living in a high-rise condominium is a norm in modern city living, many people who are interested in feng shui will wonder how to choose the auspicious unit. Here I will introduce a method using the Hetu Numbers (先天河) or Earlier Heaven Ba Gua in relationship with the facing of the building to determine which floor is more suitable to live.

The feng shui myth of Hetu Numbers is based on the story of Fuxi (伏羲), the ancient shaman king of China, observed a half dragon and half horse celestial animal flying out from the Yellow River, and on its back was a special pattern with black and white dots. The white dots represent Yang energy and odd numbers; while the black dots represent Yin energy and even numbers. Based on the distribution of the dots, the following patterns were identified:

- 1 and 6 is located at the bottom (North) 一六共宗

-2 and 7 is located at the top (South) 二七同道

- 3 and 8 is located at the left (East) 三八为朋

- 4 and 9 is located at the right (West) 四九为友

- 5 and 10 is located at the center 五十同途

I will now show the readers how to apply its principles to determine which floor is auspicious. Based on the above, we can define the following:

- 1st and 6th floor are associated with the water element

- 2nd and 7th floor are associated with the fire element

- 3rd and 8th floor are associated with the wood element

- 4th and 9th floor are associated with the metal element

- 5th and 10th floor are associated with the earth element

Since the above is only good for 1st to 10th floor, so how do we determine when the majority of modern buildings are more than 20 or even 70 storey high? Well, in this case, we will use the last digit of the floor number. For example, 29th, 49th floor are same as 9th floor, and 50th, 100th floor are same as 10th floor.

One thing to take note is any storey below the ground level is not counted. For instance, if there is an underground parking in a three story building, it still count as a three story building instead of a four storey building.

Another condition that we may encounter is in some city, because of superstition or whatever reason,
there are missing floor numbers in a building. For example, it has the 13th or 14th floor missing, thus the floor above 12th floor will become 15th floor instead. In this case, the 15th floor will count as 13th floor and the 16th floor will count as 14th floor etc.

Implications of Hetu Numbers with the facing directions of the floors in a building

- 1st and 6th floor face East and SE is considered prosperous (), face North is growth (), this implies scholar luck, fame and reputation.

When it face South, NE and SW, it is considered as decline and dead (杀) which implies widow in the household, opportunity of drowning and wandering and not auspicious to male members of the family.

- 2nd and 7th floor face SW and NE is prosperous, face South is growth, this denotes good monetary luck, and mostly daughters in the family.

When it face West, NW and North, it is considered as decline and dead, this denotes abortion, miscarriage, lung disease and law suits.

- 3rd and 8th floor face South is prosperous, face East and SE is growth, this will bring males luck and good reputation.

When it face NW, West and NE and SW, it is considered as decline and dead, this will bring juvenile mortality, trauma and unworthy descendants.

- 4th and 9th floor face North is considered auspicious, facing NW and West is growth, this implies good monetary luck, personal loyalty and good military career.

When it face South, East and SE, it is considered as decline and dead, which implies unrighteous, trauma, car accidents, law suits, loneliness.

- 5th and 10th floor facing NW is considered auspicious, facing NE and SW is growth, this implies get rich quick, own many properties and many descendants.

When it face South, SE and North, it is considered as decline and dead, this implies infectious disease, loneliness and death.

Relationship of Hetu Luck Cycle (图五子運) with the element of the floor number

The Hetu Luck Cycle is using the 6o years cycle of the Chinese calendar and subdivided it into 5 Cycles of 12 years each and each Cycle is associated with an element (see below table):

- Jia zi Cycle (甲子運) 1984 – 1995   = water element

- Bing zi Cycle (丙子運) 1996 – 2007 = fire element

- Wu zi Cycle (戊子運) 2008 – 2019 = wood element

- Geng zi Cycle (庚子運) 2020 – 2031 = metal element

- Ren zi Cycle (壬子運) 2032 – 2043 = earth element

Based on the above, we can see that currently we are in the Wu zi Cycle (戊子運) which is associated with the wood element. In this calculation, we will use the element of the floor number as the “substance state” (), and the element of the Hetu Luck Cycle as the “effect” ().

For example, the current Wu zi Cycle is associated with the wood element, and the Hetu Number 3 and 8 is wood; which means the 3rd, 8th, 13th, 18th, 23rd and 28th floor etc., are auspicious. Furthermore, since wood feeds fire, while the Hetu Number 2 and 7 is fire; this means the 2nd, 7th, 12th, 17th, 22nd and 27th etc., are also auspicious in feng shui.

Effects on the relationship between the element of the Wu zi Cycle and the floors of the building:

1. Generating cycle between the element of the Wu zi Cycle and the floor number implies good health, increase of family members.

2. If the element of the Wu zi Cycle and the floor number are identical, it means good monetary luck.

3. The element of the floor number generates the element of the Wu zi Cycle, it implies poor health.

4. The element of the floor number destroy the element of the Wu zi Cycle, it implies monetary luck, but suffer from poor health and conflicts.

5. The element of the Wu zi Cycle destroy the element of the floor number, it implies poor health, sudden death and law suits.

I will suggest the readers to first check whether the Wu zi Cycle is auspicious to the floor number and follow by the calculation of its auspicious facing direction. This will make it easier to apply when we are trying to determine the auspicious floor number.

Lastly, I want to emphasis that the above two methods are serve only as a supplementary assessment when we are deciding  which is the auspicious floor when we are looking for new living unit in a high rise condominium. When it comes to determine the feng shui of a unit itself, the outside environment (luan tao) and the chi pattern (natal chart) are still the primary factors to consider; and seeking professional consultation is strongly recommend as this will affect our luck and health as long as we are living in the unit. This is very important!

How to solve missing corners in feng shui

Feng shui remedies for “missing corners” [缺角風水] in the house

Due to many physical limitations, it is very difficult to have a “perfect” feng shui house, and one of the most common problem for many houses is missing corners which will cause adverse effects to the occupants. Here I want to discuss some feng shui remedies to solve this problem:

Missing NW corner

In feng shui, if a house is missing the NW corner, we believe it will affect the health of the male household especially those eldest male members in the family. They will most likely have legs, head issues, high blood pressure or stroke.

Feng shui remedies: round metal items or metal dog figurine to counteract the ill effects

Missing SW corner

Since the SW [坤方] is associated with the female household, that means the eldest female members in the family will likely suffer poor health, stomach and skin problems.

Feng shui remedies: ceramic lamb and monkey figurines

Missing NE corner

When a house is missing the NE corner, it may cause poor wealth conditions, skin diseases and if serious, it means the absence of male members in the family. However, it has little effect on the females in the family.

Feng shui remedies: round ceramics, ceramic cat/tiger figurine or embroidery

Missing SE corner

When a house is missing the SE corner, it will cause poor marital relationship and upper limbs problems, if serious (completer missing the corner) it will cause separation and absence of descendants in the family.

Feng shui remedies: round green bonsai, dragon painting or wooden dragon figurine to counteract the ill effects

Missing South corner

When a house is missing the South corner, it implies the opportunities of heart disease or stroke, eye problems and bad temper. This is especially affect the female who born in the year of the horse.

Feng shui remedies: place metal horse figurine, purple crystal ball, red color glassware or horse figurine at the South wall of the house

Missing North corner

When a house is missing the North corner, it may cause urinary, reproduction, kidney and myopia health problems.

Feng shui remedies: place fish tank/aquarium, water features or Mickey Mouse figurine at the North wall of the house. If available, hanging the Chinese painting of “Zongkui zhao fu tu” [鍾馗招蝠圖] or “Hundred offspring” [百子千孫圖] at the North wall will also works.

Missing West corner

When a house is missing the West corner, it will affect the marriage and health of the female members in the family. They may have skin, respiratory or oral disease.

Feng shui remedies: place metal rooster figurine at the West wall

Missing East corner

When a house is missing the East corner, this will bring liver, gallbladder problems, limbs and head issues.  Furthermore it will affect the growth and marriage of the eldest son in the family, and most likely the female is running the house.

Feng shui remedies; place round green bonsai or wood rabbit figurine or painting at the East wall

One thing I want to add is when the house has protruding corner, it means very strong chi at the particular corner, it does not means that it is not auspicious in any way. For instance, in the case of protruding SW corner, it implies female dominance in the house.

2015 (乙未年) Annual Flying Star Forecast

Due to the many request from my clients and readers of my blog site, it is about time that I will present the 2015 Annual Flying Stars Forecast. In 2014, we have seen many unfortunate things happened around the world, for examples, natural disasters like typhoon/hurricanes, landslides and warfare as I have predicted in my forecast:

Therefore, this year I sincerely hope all my readers will take note and apply my suggested feng shui cures for the 2015 annual flying stars in order to protect us and our family from any harm caused by the inauspicious flying stars. One thing I want to stress is under the authentic Chinese feng shui, the entrance door is referred as the “mouth of chi”, therefore, every shop or residence where the main entrance and bedroom door is located at the respective sector of the inauspicious 2015 annual flying stars shall apply the appropriate feng shui cure to ensure that the occupants can enjoy a safe and prosperous 2015!

9 purple fire star 九紫右弼星SW

In 2015, the 9 purple star will fly to the SW sector. This star will bring marriage and fertility luck. Since it is also referred as the “future sheng chi star”, it is good to have long term planning for the future.

However, the fire element of this star will enhance the earth element of the base 2 black star at the SW sector, the strong energy of the fire and earth element in this sector will cause gossips, conflicts, accidents, skin and lung problems. Also, it will affect the study of the children.

Another important thing to take note is the 2015 Tai Sui star is also located at the SW, therefore, it is important to avoid any major building works or digging of ground at this sector. Any renovation works that need to be done must commence on an auspicious day and time and commence first at the auspicious sectors to avoid any serious accidents or health issues.

Feng shui recommendation:

- Place a metal ba gua or a pair of metal Chi Lin at the SW sector to counteract the effect of the Tai Sui star

- Place red carpet and 8 white pebbles in a ceramic bowl at the SW sector to enhance the 9 purple star

6 white metal star 六白武曲星NE

In 2015, the 6 white metal star will fly to the NE sector which will enhance by the 8 white earth base star of the NE sector and this will bring career, property and nobleman 貴人 luck. The 6 white star is associated with the chien kua 乾卦 which represents the father in the house, this implies good chance of fatherhood.

However, try to avoid red color or large plants in this sector because it will enhance the opportunities of accidents caused by sharp metal objects and loss of money.

Another important thing to note is the 2015 “year break” star () is also located at the NE sector, therefore, major construction works or digging of ground is not recommend at this sector, otherwise, it may cause accidents.

Feng shui recommendation:

To enhance the 6 white star:

- Place either 8 pebbles in a small bowl with water; or yellow color ceramic flower vase fill with water, carpet, or crystal at this sector to enhance the auspicious 6 white star.

8 white earth star 八白左輔星 - North

This is one of the most auspicious flying star in Period Eight (2004 – 2023). In 2015, the 8 white star will fly to the North sector, which means that this will be the wealth sector of the house in 2015. If your main entrance, bedroom door or bed is located at this sector, you will enjoy good money luck especially in the property market.

Nonetheless, since the 1 white water base star is located at the North sector, try to avoid having too much water element colors or features at this sector as it will “wash” away the wealth 見財化水!

One thing we also need to be cautious is the [8, 1] combination will likely caused mud slide; thus be careful when travelling to the North places.

Feng shui recommendation:

- Feng shui enhancement items at this sector to enhance the 8 white earth star: grey color carpet, yellow color crystal or 8 white jades.

1 white water star 一白貪狼星 - East

The 1 white star is one of the 3 auspicious stars in Period Eight (2004 – 2023). In 2015, it will fly to the East sector.  This star will bring social and scholar luck. Thus it is auspicious to have the study desk located in this sector. Since the East sector is associated with the eldest son in the family, it implies good scholar luck to the male members in the family.

Also, the 1 white star will bring “peach blossom” luck 桃花運. Furthermore, under the Xuan Kong Flying Star feng shui, when the 1 white star fly to the East sector, it implies the opportunities of moving, long trip and bad temper.

Feng shui recommendation:

- Place metal element like 6 old Chinese coins or a pair of metal Chi Lin and water features at this sector to enhance the 1 white star

4 green wood star - 四綠文昌星 – NW

The 4 green star is referred as the "scholar star" in Xuan Kong Flying Star feng shui. In 2015, it will fly to the NW sector. It is auspicious to have the child study desk placed at this sector to enhance their study ability. Nonetheless, since there is the conflict of wood and metal element in this sector, it also implies the possibility of poor career and people luck. Therefore, feng shui cure are required to neutralize the conflict between the wood and metal element.

Furthermore, the combination of [4, 6] implies "stagecoach star" luck 驛馬星 which is good for moving, changing of job and travelling; but it is not auspicious to the female member in the family.

Feng shui recommendation:

- Place water features like fish tank (6 nos. of black color gold fish) or “feng shui wheel of fortune” 風水輪 (http://imageshack.com/a/img538/9612/er0K2R.jpg ) to neutralize the conflict between the wood and metal element

- Place 4 Lucky Bamboo in water or a green jade scholar pagoda 碧玉文昌塔 (http://imageshack.com/a/img540/7141/qBcRcc.jpg) at this sector to enhance the scholar luck

- Place a pair of metal horse figurine at this sector to enhance the "stagecoach star" luck

3 jade wood star - 三碧䘵存星 – Center Palace

In 2015, the 3 jade star will fly to the center palace. This star will bring conflicts and fights. Therefore, keeping a low profile in things will avoid unnecessary conflicts with others which may lead to lawsuits; it also implies the opportunities of skin, stomach and nervous health problems.

Since there is a conflict between the 3 jade wood star and the 5 yellow earth base star in the center palace, this indicates the opportunities of earth quake. Therefore, I will caution those readers who is planning for vacation trip in 2015.

Another thing we have to be careful is the combination of the 3 jade wood star and the 8 white earth Period star [3, 8] at the center palace may cause illness and accidents to the small children and infant in the household.

Nonetheless, when a flying star fly to the center palace, it is referred as “imprisonment” (入困) under the Xuan Kong Flying Star feng shui. Simply put, it means that the energy of the flying star will be subdued. In other words, as long as the appropriate feng shui cure are applied, things will not be as serious as it is indicated.

Feng shui recommendation:

- Place feng shui items like red carpet, red color sculpture, or red light at the center of the house to counteract the effect of the 3 jade star

2 black earth star - 二黑巨門星 – SE

This is considered as one of the most inauspicious stars in Xuan Kong Flying Star feng shui, second only to the 5 yellow earth star. In 2015, the 2 black star will fly to the SE sector. This star will bring serious illness or even death to the family, the opportunities of gynecological disease to the female in the family. When joining with the 2 black and 5 yellow monthly star at this sector, the household will very likely experiencing serious health problems that lead to operation. Therefore, it is very vital that if your main entrance door, bedroom door or bed is located at this sector, feng shui cure must be applied to counteract the ill effect of the 2 black star.

Since the base star in SE is the 4 green wood star, it will have conflict with the 2 black earth star. This call for the chances of earthquake. Again I will caution those readers who will travel to the SE part of the world.

Feng shui recommendation:

- Avoid clutters and digging of ground in this sector

- Avoid having fish tank, plants (especially in 2 numbers) and red carpet in this sector

- Place 8 old Chinese coins with metal Wu lo or wind chime, black color carpet at this sector to counteract the effect of the 2 black star

- Place salt water cure at this sector when the monthly 2 black star or the 5 yellow star also fly to this sector

7 red metal star -七赤破軍星 – South

In 2015, the 7 red metal star will fly to the South sector. Since this is an untimely star in Period Eight (2004 – 2023), it will cause conflicts, arguments, thefts/robbery; car accidents or accidents caused by sharp metal objects.

In addition to the fact that the 9 purple fire base star at the South will destroy the 7 red metal star, it implies the opportunities of respiratory, mouth, teeth, head and heart problems. It will most likely affecting the female members in the family.

Furthermore, the [7, 9] combination (http://netgent1-creativelife.blogspot.ca/2013/11/the-eighty-one-81-divinations-in-xuan.html) also call for the opportunities of fire hazards if the main entrance door, kitchen is located at this sector.

Feng shui recommendation:

- Avoid red, orange or purple colors in this sector

- Place water features like fish tank, a container of water, brown or yellow color at this sector to counteract the ill effects caused by this annual flying star

5 yellow earth star - 五黃廉貞星 – West

Under the Xuan Kong Flying Star feng shui, the 5 yellow earth star [正關煞, 瘟神] is regarded as the most vicious and potent star. It is responsible for all kinds of disasters, epidemic and cancer diseases or even death.

Many feng shui practitioners believe the presence of this untimely star is responsible for haunted houses. This is the reason why I always emphasis the importance of applying feng shui cure to counteract the 5 yellow earth star in my professional consultations and advice to the readers in feng shui forum.

I will soon write an article regarding how to counteract this inauspicious star in my blog site. Please stay tune.

In 2015, this star will fly to the West sector. Since this earth star will enhance the effect of the 7 white metal base star at the South sector, this implies the opportunities of food poisoning, respiratory, stomach and skin diseases, especially affecting the youngest daughter in the family.

Another important thing we need to know is the 2015 “three sha” star (三煞) is also located at this sector. It is important not to have major construction works or digging of ground at this sector, otherwise it may cause law suits and serious accidents.

Feng shui recommendation:

- Avoid green, blue, red, orange or purple color objects especially in total of 5 numbers in this sector

Also, I will not recommend to have any plants at this sector in 2015. If there are urgent repair works that need to be done, it must be perform in an auspicious day, and the work must start first from the auspicious sectors.

- Effective feng shui items to counteract the 5 yellow earth star:  6 old Chinese coins, metal wind chime, copper clock or sculpture, metal Wu Lo or a pair of metal Chi Lin and place them at the West sector of the house especially the bedroom or any room that used most often in the house

This star will affect particularly the following group of people:

- Male born in 1921, 1930, 1939, 1948, 1957, 1966, 1975, 1984, 1993, 2002, 2011

- Female born in 1920, 1929, 1938, 1947, 1956, 1965, 1974, 1983, 1992, 2001, 2010

I will recommend these people to wear metal ornaments to improve their luck in 2015.

Conclusion

I want to emphasis that the 2015 annual flying stars are only effective for one year. That means as long as we apply the appropriate feng shui cures, we and our family will be protected. There is no need to make major changes around the house like moving furniture or repainting the house or rooms which I have seen many so-called feng shui “experts” have been telling people to do!

Another reminder is the effect of the 2015 annual flying stars will start on Feb 4, 2015, therefore, it is very important to complete the feng shui cure before this date. One important thing to keep in mind is any feng shui cure must be applied on an auspicious day in order to be effective. In order to assist my readers in this matter, I will suggest the following two auspicious dates to apply the feng shui cures:

- Jan 29, 2015 (not suitable for people born in the year of the pig)

- Feb 1, 2015 (not suitable for people born in the year of the tiger)

To conclude, I wish all my readers a Safe and Prosperous 2015!
