Fundamental Concepts of the Nine Stars [紫白九星]

 The Nine Stars are referring to the nine stars in the Lo Shu Numbers [洛書數]. Each star is at a timely [當令] or untimely [失令] stage depending on the Era [元運]. For example, in Period Two; the 8 earth star is considered untimely, while in Period Eight, it is considered timely. This concept is very important in Xuan Kong Flying Star feng shui, especially when we are analyzing the natal chart.

Number One Star [一白水星]

This star represents the middle son. It is located in the North Sector (坎方) under the Later Heaven Ba Gua. Its colors are white, blue and grey; and associated with the water element. When it is timely, it will bring fame, success and recognition to the sons in the family. When it is untimely, it will cause kidney disease, breast cancer and separation between the husband and wife.

It will be auspicious if using this sector as entrance, bed room or kitchen in Period Nine and One. In Period Six and Seven, it denotes scholar luck for the son in the family. In Period Two and Five, it denotes bad health for the son, difficulty in learning and likes to wander outside the house.

The 1 water star represents fish tank, swimming pool and rivers. It is also represents Mickey Mouse and pig statue. In feng shui application, it is related with the water objects of the house.

Number Two Star [二黑土星]

This star represents the mother. It is located in the SW sector (坤方) under the Later Heaven Ba Gua. Its colors are yellow, brown and dark brown; and associated with the earth element. When using this sector as entrance, bed room or kitchen in Period Two, it will bring fortune in real estate and successful career in the military or law enforcement profession; it also implies female dominant in the house.

When it is untimely in other Periods, it will cause bad luck to the male household, miscarriage, cancer diseases and death.

The 2 earth star is related with the ceramic ware, brick works and garbage bin in the house. It also represents dark places, rotten and smelly objects.

Number Three Star (三碧木星)

This star represents the eldest son. It is located in the East sector (震方) under the Later Heaven Ba Gua. Its color is green, and associated with the wood element. When it is timely, it will bring fortune to the eldest son, successful career in politics, judicial and law profession. When it is untimely, it will cause legal disputes, conflicts, robbery; serious disease in hand and feet.

If using this sector as entrance, bed room or kitchen in Period Three and Period Four, this will denotes good fortune and successful career for the eldest son. When it is untimely in Period Five, Six and Seven, it will cause asthma disease, limb disability and legal conflicts.

The 3 wood star represents the wood and bamboo furniture, live plants and flowers, and statue of dragon and deer. On the other hand, it also represents dying plants, old shoes and cracking hard wood floor.

Number Four Star (四綠木星)

This star represents the eldest daughter. It is located in the South-East sector (巽方) under the Later Heaven Ba Gua. Its colour is light green, and associated with the wood element. When it is timely, it will bring scholar luck and fame, good looking female. When it is untimely, it denotes promiscuous women in the house, lust and drinking problem for the male household.

If using this sector as entrance, bed room or kitchen in Period One, Three and Four, it will bring scholar luck and distinction. In Period Five, Six and Seven, it denotes the possibility of asthma and suicide; promiscuous lust of both man and woman.  It also indicated the possibility that the household members love to wander outside the house.

The 4 wood star represents books, blooming flowers and plants, pen and paper and new shoes in the house.

Number Five Star (五黃土星)

This star is located in the center palace (中宮) under the Later Heaven Ba Gua. Its colour is yellow, and associated with the earth element. This star is considered untimely in all Periods (except Period Five). In the sector where the 5 earth star was located, it must be quiet and no activities (entrance, bed room or kitchen). In the scenario where the annual 5 earth star is also in the same sector, it implies misfortune, serious illness and legal disputes to the family.

Number Six Star (六白金星)

This star represents the father or the male household. It is located in the North-West sector (乾方) under the Later Heaven Ba Gua. Its colour is white, and associated with the metal element. When it is timely, it will bring fortune and children, and success in the military or law enforcement profession. When it is untimely, it will cause loss of fortune in gambling, or serious accidents.

If using this sector as entrance, bed room or kitchen in Period Five and Six, it will bring career luck in the law enforcement and administrative profession. It will also bring wealth and the birth of son in the family. In Period Seven and Eight, it is not auspicious to the male household and may leave the family with a widow. It also indicates the opportunity of serious accidents caused by metal objects and car accidents.

The 6 metal star represents metal furniture, clock, air conditioner, fridge, round mirror, crystals and car models in the house.

Number Seven Star (七赤金星)

This star represents the youngest daughter. It is located in the West sector (兌方) under the Later Heaven Ba Gua. It colour is white, gold and silver, and associated wit the metal element. When it is timely, it will bring fortune and children to the family; career luck in government or military. When it is untimely, it will bring robbery, away from home; die in prison, conflicts and fire hazards. 

If using this sector as entrance, bed room or kitchen in Period Six and Seven, it denotes wealth and career luck in the law enforcement profession, especially true to the 3rd or 6th child in the family. In Period Eight and Nine, it implies loss of money from thefts and robbery, staying away from home in jail or suffering serious accidents, most likely car accident.

The 7 metal star represents all knifes, scissors, movie star's pictures, chess and Wu Lo etc. in the house.

Number Eight Star (八白土星)

This star represents the youngest son. It is located in the North-East sector (艮方) under the Later Heaven Ba Gua. Its colour is white and light yellow, and associated with the earth element. When it is timely, it will bring fame and fortune, and wealth in property. This is considered one of the most auspicious star in Xuan Kong Flying Star feng shui.

If using this sector as entrance, bed room or kitchen in Period Six, Seven and Eight, it will bring tremendous fame and fortune. In Period Nine, Three and Four, it is considered untimely. This denotes serious health problem especially true to the children in the family.

The 8 earth star represents furniture, sofa, treasure box, and expansive ceramic wares in the house.

Number Nine Star (九紫火星)

This star represents the middle daughter. It is located in the South sector (離方) under the Later Heaven Ba Gua. Its colors are red and purple, and associated with the fire element. When it is timely, it will bring marriage luck, bearing of children and property wealth. When it is untimely, it will bring the loss of children, fire hazards and eyes problems.

If using this sector as entrance, bed room or kitchen in Period Eight and Nine, it denotes scholar luck for children, job promotion and wealth. In Period One and Two, it implies fire hazards, heart and eye disease and miscarriage.

The 9 fire star represents mirror, chandelier, artificial flowers, microwave oven, electrical lights, Lo Pan, cosmetics and model of train, canon and air craft in the house.
